OREANDA-NEWS. August 14, 2009. Moldova’s foreign state debt as of the end of the first half of 2009 totaled US775.107 million, down US 3.2 million or 0.4 per cent from the beginning of the year.

According to the Ministry of Finance’s data, in comparison with the same period last year, Moldova’s foreign state debt in January-June of this year decreased by US 14.1 million or 1.8 per cent.

The debt reduced due to the fluctuations in the dollar’s exchange rate against other currencies. The decrease in the debt also resulted from the amount of payments exceeding the amount of receipts in the first half of the year.
