OREANDA-NEWS. August 17, 2009. MRSK Holding is eager to shift its subsidiaries to long-term tariff regulation (RAB) by 2011 in the hope of offsetting in this way a reduction in useful electric power output and rising non-payments because of the crisis, reported the press-centre of FINAM.

The position of the holding, which controls 11 regional distribution grids, is set out in its 2Q 2009 financial statement. Due to the economic downturn MRSK Holding does not rule out a scenario whereby its subsidiaries could generate lower revenues compared to those which were built into when approving the electricity transmission tariff.

In the first half of 2009, as the holding specified, electric power consumption within the unified energy system of Russia declined 6.9% y-o-y and, consequently, useful electric power output also dropped at regional distribution grids. In addition, based on the holding’s data, the crisis caused a sharp rise in consumer payment delinquency.
