OREANDA-NEWS. On August 17, 2009 the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Khakassia Republic (the Khakassia OFAS Russia), following the instructions of the central Offices of FAS Russia, carried out an unscheduled monitoring of the prices for oil products at service stations in connection to the accident at the Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydroelectric Power Station. The monitoring did not reveal any increase of the prices for oil products, the press-centre of FAS Russia reported .

The Khakassia OFAS Russia checked all service stations in Abakan and the service stations located on the roads towards Chernogorsk and Sayanogorsk. Earlier the media reported that in those areas prices for oil products increased by a factor of 1.5-2; in particular, for the most popular grade АI-92 prices jumped by up to 40.0 Rubles.

An unscheduled monitoring on 17th August and a regular monitoring on 18th August showed that petrol prices did not increase and the overall situation in the oil product market remained stable.
