OREANDA-NEWS. August 18, 2009. Bakcell, one of the leading mobile operators in Azerbaijan, is starting a new initiative to support students of technical Universities in the country, reported the press-centre of Bakcell.

Bakcell will organize for the students of various universities to spend time in the company as part of the job-shadowing program. This program will allow the students to get to know the company and the telecommunications industry in general.

For this purpose Bakcell signed an agreement with Junior Achievements Azerbaijan, JAA, one of the world-wide leading organizations dedicated to educating youth about work readiness and entrepreneurship. Bakcell and JAA will jointly develop ‘The introduction to the Mobile Telecom industry’ - learning material for the students. As part of the program, the most successful youngsters will then spend time in Bakcell understanding how various areas of the company work.

During the signature ceremony which took place in the Bakcell Main office the CEO of Bakcell Ms. Ineke Botter said: “We believe that today’s students are Azerbaijan's future. So we want to invest in this future. In doing so we’re helping Azeri students to get to know one of the most exciting industries of modern world and help them understand career opportunities in this industry”. The head of JAA Vusal Khanlarov said: “This is the first time youngsters will be given a chance to learn various aspects of telecom business. We’re really happy that Bakcell has agreed to give students this chance and to jointly develop the ‘Introduction to the Mobile Telecom industry’ material”.
