On August 20, 2009 the head of Office in Vilnius of European Bank for Development and Reconstruction Matti Hyyrynen and the adviser Rimantas Purtulis visited SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority. The goal of this visit was to discuss Klaipeda Seaport potential while attracting direct foreign investments, reported the press-centre of Port of Klaipeda.
 
On the 20th of August 2009 the head of the Office in Lithuania of European Bank for Development and Reconstruction (EBRD) Matti Hyyrynen and the adviser Rimantas Purtulis visited SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority (J. Janonio str. 24). The quests were received by the director general of Port Authority Eugenijus Gentvilas. 

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is an international financial institution founded in 1991. The EBRD is owned by 61 countries. The goal of the foundation of EBRD is to help Central and East European countries to transit from planned economy to market economy investing into the private sector of the countries mentioned and attracting direct foreign investments. The Republic of Lithuania became the member of EBRD in 1992. This bank financed energetics, transport, municipality and private business projects, provided consulting and technical support in Lithuania.
