OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 August 2009 was announced, that the XII International Forestry Forum will take place in St.-Petersburg from October, 6 to 9. Head of the Republic has issued the order on the delegation that will take part in the forum. The delegation will be headed by the Prime minister of the Government of Karelia Pavel Chernov. In will also include the Minister of Forestry of the RK Vladimir Yuriev and heads of several Karelian enterprises: director on timber supplies of Kondopoga, Inc., Nikolay Durnev, director general of Swedwood Karelia, Ltd., Pontus Stork, director general of Ladenso, Inc., Igor Sapunkov and general director of Ladvinsky timber industry enterprise Joint-Stock Company Irina Surzhikova.

Within the scope of the Forum there will be held conferences concerning development of forestry and harvesting, wood-working and production of chipboards, pulp and paper industry and bio-energetics, as well as international exhibitions: Tekhnodrev International Specialized Exhibition which will present international projects fostering development of logging, woodworking and furniture industries, equipage of Russian enterprises with state-of-the-art machinery, equipment and tools, International Specialized Exhibition Transles focused at forest transport services, Wooden Construction International Specialized Exhibition and exhibition Regions of Russia. Forestry Complex Potential.

Program of the Forum of 2009 is based on advanced principles of modern European forestry technologies. The main task of the Forum is establishing of the dialogue of full value between the authority and business. The International Forestry Forum is the largest project in the Russian Federation uniting experts, politicians, businessmen, economists, scientists and managers. Official support to the forum is rendered by the Federal Forestry Agency of the Russian Federation, Committee for Natural Resources and Nature Management of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (UN FAO). The St.-Petersburg Forum is the recognized center of discussion of actual problems of Russia's forest industry promoting effective solution of problems of timber industry complex.

The nine-year history of the Forum totals more than one hundred activities held there, among which there were 'round tables', conferences, seminars, competitions, premium awards, exhibitions and presentations. Annually presentations of the Forum are held within the scope of the largest world projects in Russia, Sweden, Finland, Germany. Traditionally St.Petersburg International Forestry Forum is held at LENEXPO Fairgrounds in Gavan of St.-Petersburg. Annually the forum gathers more than 2500 delegates from wood regions of Russia and countries of the CIS and far abroad.
