OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 August 2009 was announced, that contracts were signed for the construction of two five-storey 40-apartment houses in Ashgabat, as well as four five-storey 40-apartment houses in the city of Atamurat in Lebap province of Turkmenistan for military men. This was reported by Defence Minister Yaylym Berdiyev during a government meeting on 14 August, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat. It was noted that local private companies "Durli-German" and "Doganlar", winners of the international tenders, will be awarded contracts for the construction of facilities.

It should be recalled that the President of Turkmenistan signed a decree earlier authorizing local private construction companies to participate in international tenders in the country on a parity basis with foreign companies. The Ministry of Construction of Turkmenistan is in charge of issuing relevant licenses to private firms.

To date, dozens of local private construction companies that have proven successful in construction of various facilities operate in the Turkmen market. For example, starting from 2008, construction companies "Adzhaip Bina", "Doganlar", "Ak Tam" have been involved in the construction of 15 houses in the western part of Ashgabat, the prospect of neutrality in the satellite town of the Turkmen capital Abadan (formerly Bezmein). These facilities were ordered by state entities, mostly city administrations.
