OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 August 2009 was announced, that Turkmenistan will construct new social and administrative buildings, industrial facilities and improve infrastructure in the town of Serdar in Balkan province. The total cost of construction is USD 127 million. A decree to this effect was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Foreign contractors will build an office building for the city administration, two houses, three schools, a kindergarten, a recreation center, an arts school, a sewerage treatment facility, a pass over the railroad and over a mud-water reservoir, and a carpet factory for 500 workplaces. The facilities were ordered by the administration of Balkan province and the Turkmenhaly (Turkmen carpets) state corporation. The facilities should be commissioned in October 2010.

It should be recalled that the main building of the district hospital of the town of Serdar was reopened after renovation last year. The renovation was carried out by German company "Inkas Baugesellschaft mbH." The project was implemented at the expense of charity funds amounting to USD  2 million allocated by the Sheikh of Bahrain, Rashid Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, as evidence of inviolable friendly relations with Turkmenistan. Equipment worth USD  800 thousand was supplied by Siemens company.
