To bring national textile industry up to a higher level and increase its profitability through increasing output and broadening the range of high-quality, competitive products – the tasks set to textile workers by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Paramount significance is attached to enhancement of mutually advantageous business cooperation with foreign partners. An important step on this path was the participation of Turkmen textile workers in Neimtextil-2009 International Trade Fair which took place in Frankfurt on the Main (Germany) this January. This prestigious forum provided the specialists of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan with an opportunity to study the current activities and potential of the large German companies including Oerlikon Schlafhorst and Truetzschler, which supply state-of-the-art equipment and machines of latest modifications to the textile complexes and cotton spinning mills in Turkmenistan. The further meetings and talks with the German partners resulted in concluding the agreements on direct supplies of equipment and procurement of spare parts to our country and the opening of the Textile Service Centre in Ashgabat.

It should be noted that this Centre presents the Swiss company Uster, which is specialized in manufacturing laboratory equipment to determine the physical and mechanical properties of cotton fibre and cotton yarn and quality control equipment. Almost all the textile enterprises in the country have the laboratories equipped with controlling and measuring equipment manufactured by this company that ensure compliance with the international quality standards.

According to the Ministry of Textile Industry the Textile Service Centre will allow the textile enterprises in the country to buy spare parts of manufacturing equipment without intermediaries and at the factory prices that, in turn, will reduce production costs and promote steady increase in textile output. The Centre will provide after-sales service of new machines and mechanisms and on-the-job training of local personnel with involving foreign experts. The Centre will provide service to state-run as well as private enterprises. It should be noted that the products manufactured by the German and Swiss companies will be purchased in the national currency.

Thus, the Centre will ensure textile equipment adjusting and maintenance at the enterprises in a prompt and effective manner. Currently the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan negotiates the opening of the similar service centres with the leading textile equipment manufacturers – the Italian companies – Savio, Marzoli, Promatech SpA. The high-quality machines and special spinning and weaving equipment produced by these companies are installed at the enterprises in the country.
