OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 August 2009 was announced, that unsold inventories of Belarusian industrial companies decreased 6.3% in July to 6.892 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) as of August 1, 2009, an official with Belarus’ Statistics Ministry told.

Overstocks were at 88.3% of the average monthly production volume as of August 1, 2009, up from 53% on January 1, 2009.

Inventories of engineering and metalworking companies decreased 5.1% on the month in July to 3.378 trillion rubles, of light industry companies 1.2% to 640 billion rubles, of fuel companies 34% to 56 billion rubles, and of food companies 9.3% to 1.14 trillion rubles.

Ferrous metal companies reported a 17.4% decrease in stocks to 161 billion rubles; woodworking and paper industry companies’ and chemical and petrochemical companies’ inventories went down 6.6% to 331 billion rubles and 5.3% to 696 billion rubles, respectively.

Inventories of construction materials companies went down 6.7% in July to 251 billion rubles.

In July, inventories of refrigerators decreased 26.4% to 188,800 units and of trucks fell 4.7% to 4,072 units.

Inventories of washers went down 16.5% to 32,400 units, of sugar 21.7% to 151,500 tonnes, of cement 22.5% to 25,100 tonnes, of televisions edged up 0.3% to 149,200 units, of chemical fibers fell 9.9% to 9,100 tonnes.
