OREANDA-NEWS. August 25, 2009. Enics Eesti AS, an Elva, Estonia, based electronic components maker with more than half a thousand employees, increased its profit by 81 percent on year to 39.2 million kroons (EUR 2.5 mln) in 2008.

The profit grew due to increase in production volumes and rises in effectiveness, it appears from the financial year report of the company.

The turnover of the company grew by 13.5 percent to 990.7 million kroons against 2007. Of this the company earned revenue of 370.6 million kroons from Finland, 233.1 million kroons from Sweden, 158 million from Italy and the rest from other countries. The revenues earned from Estonia was 9.4 million kroons.

Last year the company invested into machines and installations 16 million kroons.

Enics Estonia had 534 workers as of the end of last year.

The majority shares of the company belong to the Finnish investment company Ahlstrom Capital Oy.

Enics Group is one of the world's biggest companies, making electronic equipment for the medical sphere. It has factories in Estonia, China, Sweden, Slovakia, Switzerland and Finland.
