OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2009. Atomenergoprom OJSC has decided that its corporate educational institutions – Moscow Advanced Training Institute “Atomenergo” and Non-Governmental Educational Institution for Continuing Professional Education “Atomprof” — will be reorganized and incorporated into the State Central Institute for Chief Executive Training (SCICET, Obninsk, Kaluga region) as branches.

This process is supposed to be completed by the end of this year.

The objective of the reorganization is to improve the quality of the training and professional development of personnel for the nuclear industry. The consolidated educational institution will further serve as a basis for a Corporate Training Center. It will also cooperate with the National Nuclear Research University “MEPhI.”

In Sept 2009 SCICET and MEPhI are supposed to make a list of joint training programs. SCICET is also supposed to join the European Nuclear Education Network Association (ENEN). The ENEN membership will allow the institute to cooperate with international partners on training of highly qualified nuclear personnel, to organize effective training procedures, to improve the quality of teaching and to harmonize its training system with the international standards. SCICET will cooperate with ENEN on the exchange of materials for training courses and seminars and on the organization of symposiums, practical training courses and workshops.

One of the first measures will be optimization of the content of training programs. Presently, the nuclear industry is actively introducing new technologies (project management, key performance indicators management) requiring new competences. The renovated programs of SCICET will offer such knowledge.

In the longer run, the Corporate Training Center will focus on distance, interactive training and efficiency assessment programs. This is expected to substantially enhance the efficiency of the corporate activities to train new personnel and to improve the qualification of the existing one.
