OREANDA-NEWS. On 01 September 2009 was announced, that an Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting of LitPol Link, a joint venture of PSE Operator and Lietuvos Energija, being in charge of preparation of the project for construction of Lithuanian - Polish power interconnection, was held today in Warsaw. As the result of this meeting two new members of Supervisory Board have been appointed by Lietuvos Energija AB. They were delegated to replace the former members: Mr. Darius Masionis and Mr. Darius Degutis. The  appointees are Mr. Sarunas Vasiliauskas and Mr. Darius Grondskis.

Mr Sarunas Vasiliauskas is currently a Board Member of Lietuvos Energija – a shareholder of LitPol Link. During the Supervisory Board Meeting on August 27th, 2009, Mr. Sarunas Vasiliauskas was elected Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

Mr Darius Grondskis is the Head of Finance Planning and Treasury Division of Lietuvos Energija AB. Previously he held the position of Financial Director and Deputy General Manager of Ventus Nafta AB. Lithuanian side is also represented by Mr. Daivis Virbickas (Lietuvos Energija AB).

The Supervisory Board of LitPol Link is composed of six members. Each shareholder delegates three members of the Supervisory Board. The Polish shareholder PSE Operator S. A. is represented by Prof. Wladyslaw Mielczarski, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of LitPol Link, European Coordinator for the Northern European Powerlinks, Mrs. Malgorzata Klawe (PSE Operator), and Prof. Waldemar Kamrat (Gdansk University of Technology).

LitPol Link is currently preparing the localisation study for the route of a new power line in Poland. On the Lithuanian side of the border, the contractors for the territorial planning and environmental impact assessment of the investment as well as Feasibility Study for Back-to-Back converter in Alytus substation are expected to be chosen in the coming month.
