OREANDA-NEWS. September 01, 2009. The monitoring over the market of food as well as other products conducted by the State Service for Control over Consumer Market (is being transformed State Service for Antimonopoly Policy & Consumer Right Protection) under the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan continues to smash holes in budgets of sales outlets.

The ministry reports that they revealed violation of consumer rights by another 6 individuals.

As a result, from the day of operation of toughened system of sanctions for such breaches (since 17 May 2009), following the monitoring 46 legal entities were applied fines for AZN 177,000 and 364 individual entrepreneurs for AZN 546,500.

As a result, overall fines for 410 dealers reached AZN 723,500 or US899,988 in accord with the rate by early September (AZN 0.8039 to the US dollar).
