OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 September 2009 was announced, that Belarus had reduced the output quota on vodka, spirit, fruit and grape wines in 2009, and increased cognac, whiskey and improved quality wine quotas. The Council of Ministers signed relevant resolution #1076.

Vodka and hard liquor output quota for 2009 has been cut 0.4% to 16.179 million decaliters, ethyl alcohol output quota 1% to 11.24 million decaliters (in equivalent crude alcohol terms), and fruit ordinary wine output quota 8.2% to 17.66 million decaliters, and grape wine production quota 14% to 3.649 million decaliters.

The output quota on improved quality fruit wine has increased 31.5% to 5.26 million decaliters, on cognac [a type of brandy] 1.9% to 275,000 decaliters, and on whiskey 57.1% to 22,000 decaliters.

The document also approves the rum and tequila production quotas for 2009 at 3,000 decaliters each.

The production of antiseptic pharmaceuticals included in the non-food spirit-containing group of substances will reach 95,000 decaliters, down 17.4% from the original quota.

Belarus will not produce disinfectants included in the non-food spirit-containing group of substances, although the output quota was originally set at 6,000 decaliters.
