OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2009. John Deere to invest US125 million in skidding tractors production in Russia, as the company’s representative Andrei Rogov informed. This makes up about one quarter out of total investments in Russia planned by the company. Production facilities will be located at Yuzhnye Vrata industrial park.

At the moment, the company is waiting for an approval of the Ministry for Industry and Trade, after which John Deere will start delivery of the equipment for its plant. Estimated start of the production is to be in the first quarter of 2010. Further localization of production is expected, however, for some time the company will mainly import component parts.

Particular models that are to be assembled at the plant have not yet been reported.

Yuzhnye Vrata industrial park occupies 75,000 square meters and belongs to Giffels Management Russia company. The site is located 30 kilometers from Moscow at the junction of M-4 ("Don") and A-107 ("Betonka") highways.
