OREANDA-NEWS. On 9 September 2009 was announced, that the Council of Ministers of Belarus has inked resolution #1000 to oblige state-controlled enterprises to import intermediate and investment products only upon authorization of ministers, chiefs of concerns and heads of administrations, or their deputies, the head of the industry, transport and telecommunications department with the Economy Ministry, Vladimir Dernovoi, told reporters.

“Top officials will be responsible for imports of investment and intermediate goods by subordinate enterprises. A minister or deputy minister will be accountable for any imports,” Dernovoi said.

The resolution has been issued “for official use only.”

“Exports have dropped, and so have currency proceeds, so we need to have administrative measures to reinforce purely economic instruments, such as tenders and auctions. The resolution will help save currency, the official said.
