OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2009. Within the scope of the Bank of Moscow programme for supporting children’s sports, the Tennis federation of Russia held a tournament among the best tennis clubs and federations that had achieved the most in organising sport and training in the regions.

In the category “Best training of young tennis players in the Far Eastern Region”, it was the Khabarovsk Tennis Club that won the Bank of Moscow prize for 2008.

Within the framework of the opening ceremony of the International Youth Tennis Tournament “Khabarovsk Summer Open among boys and girls (10, 14, 18 years)”, which took place in Khabarovsk on 5-6 September, 2009, the Bank Prize award ceremony was also held.

The participants in the ceremony included Georgiy Perov, Deputy Chairman of the Khabarovsk regional branch of the Tennis Federation of Russia, Denis Rekhin, Chairman of the Khabarovsk Territory regional panel of judges, and Sergey Maltsev, Director of the Khabarovsk branch of the Bank of Moscow.

“Support for sport is a tradition in the Bank’s charitable works”, noted Sergey Maltsev, Director of the Khabarovsk branch of the Bank of Moscow. “Since 2006, the Bank has been promoting development and advertising of tennis, assisting the best tennis schools and talented young people in the country’s regions.”

By decision of the Tennis Federation of Russia, the Bank of Moscow prize fund, consisting of USD20 thousand, was split equally between the four winning tennis federations.
