The airline "Air Moldova" has demonstrated a better growth dynamics on the passengers on air travel market in Moldova in August 2009.

On regular flights were transported 50 600 passengers, that on 7% is more in comparison with the similar period 2008, and company's financial performance improved significantly as well.

In general, in airline the dynamics of growth passenger flow are present throughout the summer season of navigation, from the beginning of what we have opened two new directions Chisinau-Milan, Chisinau-Varna and have increased frequency of flights on Chisinau-Moscow direction up to two daily flights.

The results of the airline considerably stand out against the drop of the overall situation in the global airline industry, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) there is a decline of passenger traffic for 2,9%.

The largest growth of passenger traffic recorded in direction Moscow (22%) and two Italian directions - Rome and Milan (24%).

Such important results achieved by airline are based on the implementation of long-term program to modernize and expand the fleet (in March 2009 airline's fleet got expended with third aircraft Airbus A320 and in 5 months, in March 2010, the first time in the history of the Moldovan civil aviation companies fleet will get new aircraft - a new Brazilian aircraft Embraer-190 with 114 seats, the contract for the acquisition of which was signed in 2008) as well as on the successful implementation of commercial policy aiming to ensure safety, continuous improvement of quality of services.

Implemented airline marketing initiatives, attracted new, not previously existed on the airline market in Moldova, passengers who used the flights "Air Moldova" from Moscow and St.Petersburg to Europe by stopping over in the Chisinau International Airport that becomes a transit airport.
