OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 September 2009 was announced, that Ingosstrakh IJSC paid insurance compensation to Lenenergo JSC to the amount of RUB 4 445 140 due to the damage of a TRDCN-63000/110 power transformer caused by turn-to-turn short circuit current as a result of disintegration of insulation by vibration, affecting the transformer winding.

Ingosstrakh IJSC signed a contract with Lenenergo JSC in March 2006. According to its terms the contract covers the client’s property, i.e. production and auxiliary buildings, edifices and premises including interior and exterior finish, engineering equipment and communications, pipelines, water supplies and sewerage, over ground cables and power transmission lines, power machines and equipment etc. The insurance policy covered such risks as fire, strike of lightning, fall of aircraft of its parts, natural disasters, malicious acts by third parties aimed at damaging or destruction of insured property, burglary, robbery, plunder, accidents with water supply systems, heating, sewerage etc.

The accident at the premises of Lenenergo JSC happened on January 13, 2007. The expertise estimated damage at RUB 5 295 150. By the client’s request the insurance company transferred the insurance compensation by two installments to the amount of RUB 4 445 150 (less the franchise of RUB   850 000).

According to Vitaly Maksimenko, head of the Ingosstrakh IJSC Industrial Claims Settlement Section, over the three years of cooperation there have been about 20 accidents at the client’s enterprises, covered by the insurance company. The volume of payments made by Ingosstrakh IJSC in compensation exceeded RUB 34.1 million.
