OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2009. According to its payment balance statistics, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan registered 89.4% of oil export from the country for the 2nd quarter of 2009.

The CB reports that for the 2nd quarter of 2009 it was exported oil and petroleum products for USD 7.908 bn while country’s overall fuel energy export was for USD 7.997 bn (against USD 3.17 bn and USD 3.2 bn in the 1st quarter 2009,  USD 28.468 bn and USD 29.098 bn for 2008, USD 25.09 bn and USD 25.6 bn for the first three quarters of 2008, USD 16.544.3 million and USD 16.829 bn for the 1st half-year 2008, USD 6.97 bn and USD 7.097 bn for the 1st quarter of 2008.

In 2007 oil export made USD 20,039.4 million with total export from the country of USD 21,269.3 million, in 2006 oil export reached USD 11.998 bn (in 2005 - USD 6.618 bn).

In the 2nd quarter of 2009 export of petroleum products made USD 526.1 million (versus USD 245.6 million in the 1st quarter 2009, USD 2.2 bn in 2008, USD 1.7 bn in 2007 and USD 1.6 bn in 2006) and crude oil USD 7.4 bn (against USD 2.9 bn, USD 26.3 bn, USD 18.3 million and USD 10.4 bn respectively).

Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) remained the Azerbaijan’s key oil exporter with USD 6.8 bn in the 2nd quarter 2009 (against USD 2.7 bn in the 1st quarter 2009, USD 24.2 bn in 2008, USD 17.7 bn in 2007 and USD 9.9 bn in 2006). Azerbaijan’s profit in AIOC export totaled USD 2.021 bn (versus USD 14.7 bn, USD 2.8 million and USD 1.631 bn) and foreign partners’ one 636.1 million (USD 9.5 bn, USD 14.9 bn and USD 8.2 bn).

The data on government’s earnings from AIOC and foreign partners were not published.

National oil producer, SOCAR, and others exported oil for USD 547.8 million (versus USD 268.2 million, USD 2.1 bn, USD 0.6 bn and USD 564.4 million), including condensate from Shah Deniz gas field for USD 169.3 million (USD 140.1 million and USD 1.3 bn in 2008) and SOCAR’s own export for USD 378.5 million (USD 128.1 million and USD 0.8 bn in 2008).
