OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2009. Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard (Nizhni Novgorod, MNP Group) has delivered the Shusha tanker project 19619 to its customer - Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company (CASPAR) ahead of the schedule. Earlier the delivery was scheduled for the end of 2009, MNP Group reports.

It is the seventh 13,000-dwt tanker built by Krasnoye Sormovo for CASPAR. The first one was built in 2004.

Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard has also delivered the Atyrau tanker, the first of three tankers under the contract with National Maritime Shipping Company of Kazakhstan, Kazmortransflot. Total value of the contract for three 13,000-dwt tankers is \\$66 mln.

Besides, the shipyard launched the Khazar tanker built for national administration of Turkmenistan. Two 7,000-dwt tankers are to be built by the shipyard under the \\$31-mln contract.

The Caspian Shipping Company is a large shipowning company. The basic sort of activity is the transportation of cargoes, with a prevalence of petroleum and petroleum products. Areas of navigation: Caspian sea, Black sea, Mediterranean sea, Sea of Marmara. The cargoes delivered to the Caspian Sea from the ports of the Baltic and the Black Sea-Mediterranean basins through the Volga-Baltic and Volgodonsk navigable systems, are sent without crossings to the ports of Iran. Another branch of the Caspian Shipping Company, working in the Black Sea-Azov basin, carries out the transportations of the cargoes of foreign freighters to the ports of Europe, Near East and Northern Africa.
