OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2009. Belarus’ fruit and vegetable juice imports decreased 48.6% on the year in January-July 2009, to 15,691 tonnes worth U.S. USD 20.523 million, down 35.8% on the year in monetary terms, the Statistics Ministry told.

Russian juice imports halved on the year to 7,028 tonnes, which cost USD 7.358 million, an decrease of 49.5%.

Imports from Ukraine decreased 2.6 times on the year in January-July 2009 to 2,808 tonnes worth USD 2.663 million, a decline by 2.1 times.

The main non-CIS suppliers were Israel with 3,302 tonnes, up 4.7%, worth USD 5.97 million, down 1.3%, and Germany with 461 tonnes, down 24%, worth USD 588,000, down 9.8%. Imports from Brazil rose 180% to 472 tonnes to the amount of USD 986,000, up 150%.
