OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2009. Belarus plans to raise both production and exports of alcohol in 2010, under the adjusted program for development of alcohol-producing and exporting enterprises for 2005-2010, which has been adopted by the Council of Ministers’ resolution #1129.

Vodka output target for 2010 has been raised to 15.3 million decaliters from 8.2 million decaliters, and the export target has been increased to 7.646 million decaliters from 525,800 decaliters.

Fruit wine output is projected to go down to 18.9 million decaliters in 2010 from the original target of 21.1 million decaliters, and grape wine production is supposed to fall to 4.7 million decaliters from 6.8 million decaliters planned earlier.

It is planned to expand cognac-making facilities to 285,000 decaliters, up from the original target of 163,000 decaliters, and cognac output to 302,000 decaliters from 254,000 decaliters

Heads of local administrations will bear personal responsibility for meeting export targets.
