OREANDA-NEWS. September 22, 2009. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko considered within nearest time tariffs for services provided by Ukrainian ports should be reconsidered with an aim to raise their competitiveness.

The Head of Government announced during a round table with leaders of ports, branch trade union, executive authorities and scientists dedicated to issues of functioning and development of sea economy of Ukraine underway in Odesa. Yulia Tymoshenko noted that reconsidering of the tariffs for transit and transshipment should be held taking into account tariffs for similar services of main competitors of Ukrainian ports – in Constanta (Romania) and Novorossiysk (the Russian Federation).

At this, the Premier commissioned representatives of sea economy branch within two weeks to hold an enlarged meeting and elaborate a single document directed to optimization of the tariffs.
