OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2009. In Mykolayiv on OJSC “Wadan Yards Okean” there was a solemn ceremony of launching of the first barge “NIBULON- 001”. The ceremony visited a lot of guests from different regions of Ukraine, workers of “Wadan Yards Okean” and NIBULON.

Firstly this ceremony was planned to be on the 15th of August but due to coordinated and well organized work the first barge was launching on August the 11th.

It is a good tradition for us to meet nearly twice a month on shipbuilding yard “Wadan Yards Okean” to launch one or two vessels. It should be pointed out that this company works stable, is a guarantor of execution of budget, provides with wage payment that is very important in such difficult economic conditions – noted the Head of Mykolayiv regional state administration Oleksiy Garkusha.  – I am very proud that such an event is held in our region. Such cooperation is an example how to work and realize those resources that our state has today. Of course we have problems but they have to be solved.

The mayor of Mykolayiv city Volodymyr Chaika thanked personally General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy and noted that city authorities always support the company and now we are proud the company placed its orders in Ukraine.

The government representatives and namely Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Viktor Boiko and the first Deputy Head of Defense Industry Agency of Ukraine Volodymyr Sirenko expressed their support to NIBULON.

Viktor Boiko noted that with the help of this project realization NIBULON will be able to solve the problem of low prices for agricultural production reducing logistic expenses for agricultural producers. That in its turn will strengthen the position of Ukraine as agrarian country in the world.

According to Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, Prime minister of Ukraine Yuliya Tymoshenko during her working visit to Poltava region personally sent greetings to the workers of these companies and expressed support to their active and painstaking work.

The Head of Poltava Regional State Administration Valeriy Asadchev noted – We opened one of the most powerful thruways such as Dnipro River. It is a competitor for our railways. Ukraine will be the biggest grain trader, world grain trader that will be able to influence upon grain position not only in Europe but also in the world. Creation of its own fleet is an important order not only for shipbuilders but also for agrarians.

Among guests there were also President of Ukrainian Grain Association Volodymyr Klymenko, General Director of Ship Register of Ukraine Volodymyr Sevryukov, the first deputy Head of Mykolayiv regional state administration Nataliya Brakovan.

All agrarians that work and grow agricultural production down Dnipro River, will have better price on 10-15 USD for their grain and it means that they will develop and grow grain of a higher quality - underlined economic expediency of the project Volodymyr Klymenko.

Appealing to shipbuilders General Director of NIBULON, the Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Vadaturskyy said: Together we do a common cause. I worry a bit. Earlier we bought tractors and combines, built terminals and inland silos. Now I have a role of shipbuilder and I like it. Due to these vessels the work of agrarians will be more effective and competitive and you will have work.

After speeches of honorable guests Vadaturska Raisa played the role of a godmother with dignity and knocked to pieces bottles with champagne. That was a sign of a first-born birth of NIBULON fleet.

During the press conference General Director of “Wadan Yards Okean”, the Hero of Ukraine Mykola Romanchuk said the following: It is not a simple barge; it is a very complicated vessel. It should be pointed out its unique patented hatch covers that have no analogues and complicated ground tackle. Besides, it is a river-sea barge. It can be used in ice conditions. Did we have any problems? No problem. We are hard pressed for time. Now we work even on Sunday.

Concerning project economic efficiency Oleksiy Vadaturskyy replied: “Such a question is always in any business-project. We reckon to return money during 5 years. I would like to point out the problem of unloading of roads and railways. Let us reckon: one barge can transport 4.5 thousand tons of agricultural production but for the same quantity of production we need 180 trucks or 69 railway vehicles. In other words it is serious competition for truck and railway carriers. So if we have competition, there is no monopoly, in its turn market will work sufficiently, and you can see increase of price for 50-100 UAH per ton. If, for example, in the region man will grow 15 mln tons of cereals, it will be 750 mln UAH of additional income in agrarian sector of Ukraine from only one region”.
