In the cash turnover of Ukraine there is a considerable amount of the currency notes that fall into the category of the damaged. As a matter of fact, they must be sorted out and withdrawn from circulation for carrying out an examination.

The damaged foreign currency notes could be exchanged at any department of the Bank "Finance and Credit" all over Ukraine. Starting from the beginning of the year, the Bank has accepted the sum for collection that amounts to more than 1.6 million US dollars and 227 thousand Euros.

According to Galina Kalashnikova, the Director of the Operational Department at the Bank: "In order to make an exchange of the damaged foreign currency notes, one should come to the department of the Bank, and write an appropriate application. After that, in accordance with the level of the currency note's damage – the bill can be accepted for collection with the simultaneous reimbursement. This refers to the damaged or slightly damaged currency notes, or for the long-term collection to date from 1 to 3 months, in case of substantial damages, such as bad burns or acid-induced damages. In this case, the commission fee will constitute 10% from the sum, claimed by the customer when accepted for the collection".

It is important to note, that the commission fee for the collection when exchanging the damaged or slightly damaged currency notes constitutes not more than 5%.  And in case of depositing your damaged currency notes (up to 5% from the amount of the deposit), for the loan repayment, interest payment on loan – there is no commission fee.

High professionalism and the organizational precision of work make it possible for the Bank to cooperate not only with the population, but also to accept the damaged foreign currency notes from the partner-banks.
