OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2009. Elektrogorsk Research and Engineering Center on Nuclear Power Plants Safety (EREC, 100% asset of Aromenergoprom OJSC) is completing the complex of measures to create an automated process control system for the 1st unit of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant (Iran). This project is part of the strategy of Atomstroyexport CJSC (the general contractor of the project) to create an automated process control system for Bushehr NPP.

EREC is launching the system on a turnkey basis: it has taken part in the development of the project and concept of software and hardware testing, has tested the system at a testing ground and has coordinated its production, delivery and commissioning.

The system has been designed by Atomenergoproekt OJSC (Moscow, 100% asset of Atomenergoprom OJSC). It is based on display control method, has been licensed, meets all rules and standards of the nuclear industry and has been approved by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Presently, in the framework of the preparations for the hydro-testing of the primary and secondary circuits of the 1st unit of Bushehr NPP, the automated process control system department of EREC, jointly with the suppliers of the equipment, have put into experimental service the following systems:

— Top level system and means for operational and supervisory control of the control panel;
— system for control of electrics, ventilation systems, automated fire prevention system, reactor and turbine compartments;
— technological safety control systems.

EREC is also starting up the special systems of the reactor.

All this is preparation for the hot testing. As a result of this project EREC has acquired large experience of development, assembling, testing, integration and commissioning of automated process control systems for Bushehr-1.
