OREANDA-NEWS. September 29, 2009. Uzavtosanoat, which unites car industry enterprises, and South Korean Chasys Co. Ltd launched a joint venture UzChasys in Namangan, which will produce car lights, reported the Official website gov.uz.

The only such enterprise in Central Asia has the latest technologies for producing the car lights and testing the ready production.

According to company director Uughbek Karimov, UzChasys will produce 18 types of details for light systems of GM Uzbekistan’s automobiles.

The plant is capable of changing the designs of the production in a short period of time, which is convenient when the new mode of automobile is produced.

The capacity of UzChasys is 250,000 car light and lamp sets per year, which fully covers the needs of the GM Uzbekistan, as well as service markets in the country and in the CIS.

The launch of the first stage of the project allowed to employ 200 people. On reaching full capacity, the company will annually produce import-substituting products worth USD 40 million.

The further plans of cooperation include launch of production of car chassis and lifting jacks. Besides, other enterprises of Namangan region will be attracted to production of press components, filters and protection shields.

“Despite the global financial crisis, we believe our cooperation with Uzbekistan will be successful,” Chasys president Chang So Dong said.
