OREANDA-NEWS. September 29, 2009. Metinvest Iron Ore Division has introduced software application to manage relations with suppliers, which operates on the basis of SAP SRM (Supplier Relationship Management).

The main purpose of introduction of SAP SRM software application in the Metinvest Group’s Iron Ore Division is to ensure better performance of tender departments in the holding’s assets, which work with contractors and suppliers.

The project automated the entire procurement and tender process: placing purchase orders on portal http://sevgok.com.ua; collecting and analyzing information from regular suppliers; analyzing and organizing tenders; and integrating the existing SAP ERP system into the system of purchasing.

At present about 100 users of tender departments within the Metinvest Group’s Iron Ore Division work with SAP SRM software application.

The project was implemented by SevGOK Competence Centre together with CONIM.

To implement the project ASAP methodology was used: project preparation, conceptual project design, implementation, preparation for the start-up, efficient operation and maintenance.

“First of all we implement the projects aimed to improve production efficiency. The automated tender system improves efficiency of relations with suppliers, makes the procurement process transparent and helps attract new suppliers”, noted Alexander Vilkul, the Honorable Director of Iron Ore Division.
