OREANDA-NEWS. September 30, 2009. In I half of 2009, Moldavian HES has produced 2,45 billion kWh of electricity exceeding the same indicators of 2008 by two times. According to the company "Inter RAO ES, which owns Moldavian HES, 1 billion 421 million kWh of electricity was exported to the foreign consumers.

In 2008, the Moldovan HES has produced 2 billion 630 million kWh of electricity. As of November 14, 2008, during the visit of the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to Moldova, SC “Inter RAO ES” and “Moldelectrica” had concluded the bilateral project providing allocation of the units of Moldovan HES for the radial work with the system in Romania”.

The realization of this scheme has significantly increased the supply of electricity to Romania and brought it to about 400 MW, or up to 290 million kWh per month. From January 1, 2009, the supply of electricity to Moldova had started. Having been the part of Inter RAO ES group, the Moldovan HES has significantly strengthened its position at the market.

The investments of Inter RAO ES in the repair, modernization of equipment and improvement of reliability of the station allowed to ensure the fulfillment of EU’ s requirements in the field of coordination of electricity transfer (UCTE), as well as to provide primary and secondary regulation of the electric current frequency. This is particularly important for Moldovan HES, as this asset of "Inter RAO ES" has a strategic importance for the development of trade in European direction.
