OREANDA-NEWS. September 30, 2009. JSC Irkutskenergo plans to increase 1.5 times saving of energy resources this year, as compared with the indicators of the previous year. This is what Sibirskie Novosti (Siberian News) learned from the company. In 2008, under the programme of energy saving, the company saved 16.9k Gcal of thermal energy, 20.3m kW/h of electric energy and 337k tons of standard fuel, including 219.9k – due to transmission of loadings from electric boilers to thermal sources that run on fossil fuel.

To save fuel, the company is improving the efficiency output of boilers, turbines, reducing losses of steam and condensate, utilising low potential warmth, transferring thermal loading from electric boilers to thermal sources that run on fossil fuel and optimising the loading of the equipment. Among the activities for saving of electric energy are reduction of own consumption of electric energy by the company and increase of production of electric energy at Bratsk hydro electric station.
