OREANDA-NEWS. October 2, 2009. Russia is ready to consider the possibility of re-enriching Iranian uranium to 19.75% if the International Atomic Energy Agency makes such a request, says a source aware of the course of relevant talks.

Iran says that it needs 19.75% U-235 enriched uranium for its research reactor.

“Russia is ready to discuss the possibility of further enrichment of the 4% enriched Iranian uranium to 19.75% provided that the IAEA makes such a request,” says the source.

It notes that Iran will be forced to order fuel for this project via the IAEA in France.
