OREANDA-NEWS. October 06, 2009. FAS Russia's clarification about the Nokia case:

Regarding information in mass media that Nokia violated the antimonopoly legislation, FAS Russia would like to inform:

On 23rd September 2009, the FAS Russia's Commission found that violated the antimonopoly legislation; and closed proceedings due to voluntary elimination of the violations.

Nokia violated the law by coordinating retailers' activities: fixing recommended prices for telephones. It could restrict competition between retail networks.

The case was initiated in August 2009 before the so-called "second package of antimonopoly laws", which introduces "turnover fines" for competition-restricting coordination of economic activity. Therefore, fines will not be applied.
