OREANDA-NEWS. October 06, 2009. The Rating agency “Expert-Rating” formed reliability rating of foreign bank holding companies represented in Ukraine. The group of rating* leaders was topped by the French bank group Credit Agricole – owner of INDEXBANK, reported the press-centre of INDEXBANK.

In analysts’ opinion, banking group Credit Agricole was least touched by the crisis among all the bank holding companies in Ukraine. At the beginning of the year, the group’s assets reached the record point of 1,65 trillion Euros, this enabling to include the group into the list of the world’s major bank holding companies. Another positive fact is that Credit Agricole did not require considerable intervention on the part of the French Government in order to overcome the crisis. Investors on Paris Stock Exchange NYSE Euronext gave it a particular appraisal: on days crucial for European bank holding companies in March 2009, when capitalization of some of them plummeted by 90%, Credit Agricole shares went down one and a half times slower.

*The rating indicates the level of support the parent bank holding company is able to provide to its business in Ukraine.
