OREANDA-NEWS. October 08, 2009. TNK-BP completed implementation of stage 1 of an investment project for reconstruction of treatment facilities at the Uvek Oil Depot of Saratovnefteproduct, informed the press service of the company. The total budget of this project is over US3 million, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

Two large buried sewage pumping stations are so far replaced by three compact modules with control and regulation of parameters from the control panel.

Implementation of the remaining stages of reconstruction will make it possible to decommission outdated sewage pumping stations, optimize reception of storm and melt waters,  separate industrial sewage from domestic sewage according to industrial safety regulations, and revamp ferroconcrete sumps and pressure pipelines. Completion of the project is scheduled for 2010.

The Uvek Oil Depot established in 1894 is one of the largest oil terminals in Europe. The total volume of its tank farm is 229,000 cubic meters, The main activities of the oil depot are storage and supply of oil products to customers using river, vehicular, and railway transportation. In 2008, the oil depot offloaded 4.399 million tons of oil products, which is 346,600 tons more than in 2007.
