OREANDA-NEWS. October 09, 2009. Aeroflot’s Board fo Directors held its regular meeting chaired by Igor Levitin, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

The Board considered issues related to the transaction between Aeroflot Russian Airlines JSC and VEB Leasing JSC on the lease of 10 new jet SSJ-100 regional-class airplanes. 

The Board approved the plan for the further implementation of SAP in Aeroflot. It was noted that the practice of using SAP products in Aeroflot shows the necessity for Aeroflot to transition to this game-changing air carriage management level in Aeroflot. The proposed plan is scheduled for 2009 – 2011 and aims at modernization of Aeroflot’s finance and inventory management systems, and SAP extension to operations, budgeting, personnel management, and procurement.

The Board considered the report on Aeroflot’s operational and financial performance for H1 2009. It was noted that, in the current conditions of falling demand for air carriage, the company has driven its share of regular air carriage market in Russia from 24.7% to 26.2% compared to the same period 2008. With passenger turnover falling by 12.1% (against the average 18% for the Russian aviation), the company earned profits of RUB 3.5 billion according to RAS (Russian Accounting Standards).

The personnel matters were also paid attention. Bogdanov Kirill Igorevich was appointed Deputy CEO for IT – he replaced Kiryushin S.E.; Kurmashov Shamil Ravilyevich was appointed Deputy CEO for finance and investment – he replaced Poluboyarinov K.I. Bogdanov K.I. and Kurmashov S. P. were also appointed members of the Governing Board.

The Board also elected the following members of Aeroflot’s Committee for Strategy: Bogdanov Kirill Igorevich, Deputy CEO for IT; Saprykin Dmitry Petrovich, Deputy CEO for legal and property issues.
