OREANDA-NEWS. October 09, 2009. Aeroflot Russian Airlines JSC broadens geography of online check-in available for passengers on its own flights. Now, passengers of all Aeroflot flights from Yerevan, Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo and Dubai, can check in not only at an airport but also at home or work – over the Internet, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

Since June 25 2009, online check-in has been available to Aeroflot passengers flying from Sheremetyevo. The company plans to increasingly install and use its own check-in system at airports of arrival. The priority plans are to enable web check-in for passengers departing from Anapa, Krasnoyarsk, Samara, Mineralnye Vody, Omsk, Nizhnevartovsk. Online check-in availability in an airport depends on the facility’s equipment with Sabre ACSI check-in system, and the readiness of its services.

The new service is convenient for passengers as it saves their time. The online check-in for a flight begins 24 hrs before departure and ends 1 hrs 3 min before departure. This is especially convenient for those traveling with carry-on baggage only, because it enables them to skip check-in and proceed straight to boarding. In case of baggage, passengers should check it in as usual.

Passengers with air tickets when checking themselves in should go to section “Online Check-in” form the homepage www.aeroflot.ru. Having submitted their data (personal name, family name, departure point, flight number, Aeroflot-Bonus card number, passport data) passengers can select a seat at their convenience, and then print out a boarding pass. Passengers with such a printout, upon arrival at an airport can go straight to their boarding gate.

The online check-in introduction is Aeroflot’s next step on the way to further improvement of its product quality through new technologies.
