OREANDA-NEWS. October 9, 2009.  Investments of French Renault in AvtoVAZ will be implemented in the form of sharing technologies, First Vice PM Igor Shuvalov said Thursday. “They (Renault) have confirmed that they are ready and willing to allocate major investments for the expansion of AvtoVAZ and enable the car maker to use the most advanced technologies which will be evaluated in a transparent manner in order to avoid arguments about how much such technologies cost.

After their assessment, they will be provided and contributed to the company’s charter capital”, Shuvalov said after a visit to the Russian enterprise. “Our partners confirm that they are interested in the development of AvtoVAZ and their investments in AvtoVAZ are strategic and long-term”. Earlier, Renault agreed to a categorical proposal by Russian authorities to invest in AvtoVAZ and said these investments will not necessarily be in cash.
