OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2009. Belarus’ state-run Minsk Kristall distillery, the largest maker of liquors in Belarus, supplied 28,000 0.7-liter Inver House and Highland whiskey [14,000 bottles of each brand], which it bottles at its own premises, to retail networks, a source in the administration of the plant told.

Bulk whiskey was purchased from Inver House Distillers LTD and Glasgow Whisky Limited

The pilot batch of whiskey was sold in July 2009.

Whiskey will be sold at 46,000 Belarusian rubles (Br) per bottle in the retail network and 39,000 rubles in Minsk Kristall stores.

The company’s whiskey quota is at 6,000 decaliters in 2009, and it may buy additional volumes if the demand proves strong enough.

Originally, the distillery bought 2,500 decaliters of Inver House and Highland whiskey each.

Minsk Kristall was established in 1893. Last year’s output totaled 3.776 million decaliters of vodka, up 11% on the year, 102,000 decaliters of cognac, up 88.9%, and 131,000 decaliters of grape wine, down 34.5%.
