OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2009. Belarus’ Grodno-based Neman tobacco factory increased cigarette output 3% on the year in January-September to 10.04 billion units, a representative in the administration of the company told.

Production under contracts with British-American Tobacco Trading Company reached 2.7 billion units, up 83.7% from previous January-September.

Production under contracts with Japan Tobacco International amounted to 95.3 million units.

Cigarette deliveries to the retail network amounted to 10.44 billion units, up 15.6% on the year in January-September.

The leading brands by the volume of sales are Minsk with 16.26% and Premier with 15.88%.

Neman was founded in 1861 and transformed into a joint-stock company with all shares controlled by the state in 2008.
