OREANDA-NEWS. October 15, 2009. The cost of petrol and diesel oil at filling stations didn’t change. The last time prices for liquefied gas in Moldova rose, was this September when prices increased by 0.5 leis.

Experts say the increase in liquefied gas’s cost has a seasonal character and was caused by the growth of prices in the international market. Liquefied gas is used in many Central European countries in the cold time of the year as an alternative fuel, that is why price for it in the world market goes up.

It was informed at the National Power Regulating Agency that liquefied gas import to Moldova in the first half of 2009 reduced by 0.27 percent in comparison with the same period last year, to 29.02 thousand tones. The average wholesale price of liquefied gas went down by 49.3 percent – from 10,213 to 5,177 leis for a tone.

The leading positions as to the liquefied gas import to Moldova were taken by the LUKoil-Moldova (22.7% of the total import in January-June this year), Dominic (22.4%), Konstaoiol (12.7%), Tirex Petrol (11.95%).
