OREANDA-NEWS. October 15, 2009. The MSAP Coordination Council on Advertising discussed problems of developing self-regulation in advertising industry in the CIS member-statesю

According to the agenda of the 30th session of the Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Policy in Yerevan (the Republic of Armenia), participants discussed experience of the antimonopoly bodies of the CIS member-states in exposing bid-rigging collusions as well as in enforcement of the legislation on advertising.

Upon completion of the MSAP session, its participants were invited to attend the meeting of the MSAP Coordination Council on Advertising; where the welcoming address on behalf of the Council was given by the MSAP Chairman, the Head of FAS Russia Igor Artemyev.

The meeting of the MSAP Coordination Council on Advertising brought together representatives of advertising communities form Ukraine, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Russia.

At the meeting participants exchanged opinions about the impact of the financial and economic crisis on the advertising markets and prepared recommendations how to overcome adverse consequences of the crisis.

MSAP Coordination Council on Advertising was formed following the decision of XIX MSAP session on 17th May 2004 in Kiev. The Council is a permanent consultative-and-advisory body. Its objective is to support cooperation between government agencies of the CIS member-states, regulating advertising activities, and participants of the advertising market towards implementing the Cooperation Agreement between CIS Member-States in Regulating Advertising Activities of 19th December 2003.
