OREANDA-NEWS. October 15, 2009. Mazhit Yesenbaev - the Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Protection of Competition - became Deputy Chairman of MSAP following the voting at the 30th session of the Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Policy (MSAP), which took place in Yerevan (the Republic of Armenia).

Currently, the MSAP Chairman is Igor Artemyev, the Head of FAS Russia, and his Deputies are Viorika Kerare, the General Director of the National Agency for Protection of Competition of the Republic of Moldova, and Mazhit Yesenbaev, the Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Protection of Competition.

Born in 1949. Graduated from Kazakh Polytechnical Institute [University, specialising in economics. An Associate Professor (PhD in Economics).
He began his carreer as an economist at the Research Institute for Norms-and-Standards Planning, of the State Planning Agency [Gosplan] of the Kazakh Republic (USSR).

In 1999 was appointed the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2002 became the Minister of Economics and Commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and then was appointed the Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2003 - as Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan н. In 2004 - 2008 the Аkim of the Akmolinsk regon.

From 2008 till now - the Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Protection of Competition.

MSAP comprises plenipotentiary representatives of the CIS member-states. Each party can appoint two plenipotentiary representatives to the Council and has one vote.

Currently MSAP includes representatives of the following CIS countries: the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Молдова, Russian Federation, the Republic of Tadjikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
