OREANDA-NEWS. October 15, 2009. The social project “Podarok Rebyonku” (Gift to a Child) has been launched in the Kirov Region and Perm Kraj. Representatives of the Kirov Region and Perm Kraj have signed agreements with Allianz ROSNO Life, whereby the parties agreed to join efforts in support of orphan children, to implement joint measures aimed at attracting insurants to the project, and to track the project’s progress in the abovementioned regions, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

The project “Gift to a Child” has been designed to attract charity funds to accumulative life insurance to the benefit of orphan children and unparented children. Allianz ROSNO Life began its implementation in 2007 and 2008 in Tula, Tuapse, and Krasnodar.

Pursuant to the project, benefactors (whether private individuals or companies), instead of direct monetary contributions, buy accumulative life insurance policies in favour of children selected for participation by the region’s Education Department. Allianz ROSNO Life acts as the guarantor in terms of forming and accumulating funds with subsequent payment of the final amount to the children participating in the project. The main idea behind the project is that, once the child turns 18, he or she receives the starting capital that can be spent in any of the following ways: university tuition, necessary medical treatment, or first installment for the purchased housing.

In the Kirov Region, the company concluded the relevant agreements with the Kirov Region Government, represented by the Region Governor Mr. N.Y. Belykh, and with the Kirov City Administration, represented by the City Mayor Mr. V.V. Bykov. In this region, 4 children have already been insured under the project, with the aggregate insurance amount of 420 thousand roubles. In Perm Kraj, Allianz ROSNO Life concluded a cooperation agreement with the Perm Regional Agency for Social Services Management, represented by the acting director of the Agency Mr. I.P. Akulov.

In the year 2008 alone, about 50 children received accumulative life insurance policies under the project “Gift to a Child”. In May 2009, the project “Gift to a Child” was awarded with Russia’s only national insurance premium “Golden Salamander” in the nomination “Social Project of the Year 2008”.

“Today, Russia has around 143 thousand orphan or unparented children. We are confident that only joint efforts by the federal government, local administrations, business community and the general public can contribute to financial protection of this vulnerable category of children. This goal is at the heart of the project “Gift to a Child” implemented by Allianz ROSNO Life. We are truly proud that, last year, our project not only met positive feedback from sponsors and certain regional governments, but also won nationwide recognition by becoming laureate of the premium “Golden Salamander” in the nomination “Social Project of the Year”. In the near future, the project “Gift to a Child” will be launched in a number of other Russian regions”, commented Ms. Zinaida Myakina, Deputy CEO of Allianz ROSNO Life.
