OREANDA-NEWS. October 15, 2009. Karelian scientists' research and development in the field of nanotechnologies have been presented at the exhibition within the scope of the IInd International Forum on nanotechnologies held in Moscow in central exhibition complex Expocenter on October 6-8. The Forum was organized by the Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RUSNANO). Exposition of Karelia was prepared by experts of the Ministry of Economic Development of the republic.

At the stand of the Republic of Karelia the Nelan-Oxide innovative enterprise operating on the basis of research laboratory of the Karelian State pedagogical Academy has presented a number of unique developments that may be implemented at aircraft and machinery construction, medicine and for various home appliances. The Nelan-Oxide, Ltd., is researching alloys of metals on the basis of aluminium and titanium.

Institute of Geology of Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences has presented its innovative development related to use of schungite substance on which basis various composite materials may be created. Petrozavodsk State University was presenting nanotechnologies in the field of oxide electronics.

More than 100 organizations including famous Russian companies, scientific and educational establishments have taken part in work of the Forum in Moscow. At the exhibition of nanotechnologies in Expocenter there have been presented lots of new equipment and appliances for research of nano-objects, as well as samples of products made of nanomaterials. Representatives from 35 countries of the world visited the exhibition.

On the part of some the Russian scientific organizations, industrial enterprises and corporations Karelian scientists were made a number of offers on cooperation in solution of scientific and technical tasks. In particular, representatives of Prometey, Central Research Institute of Structural Materials, FSUE, Saint Petersburg, ROSCOSMOS Federal Space agency of the Russian Federation and United Company RUSAL took an interest in projects of Nelan-Oxide, Ltd.
