OREANDA-NEWS. October 21, 2009. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, the decrease in agricultural production was due to the reduction of plant-growing output by 17%.

The negative impact on the dynamics of volume of plant-growing production was due to the low grain yield of the crops of the first group. According to the preliminary data, the total yield of wheat in all categories of farms made about 700 thousand tons, decreasing by 45% as compared to the previous year. Barley yield has decreased by 29% - up to 250 tons.

The way of the harvesting process indicates the low average yields of the main crops, except for grapes, the average yield of which has increased as compared to the previous year. At the same time, the livestock production in the country has increased by 8,6%.

In January-September, 2009, as compared to the same period of 2008, the livestock and poultry production (in the live weight) has increased by 13,6% - up to 93,8 thousand tons, cow milk production- by 0,7% - up to 432 tons , eggs - by 12,6% - up to 462.4 million.
