OREANDA-NEWS. October 22, 2009. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) formed the Expert Council for Developing Competition in Oil and Oil Products Market. The Order was signed by Igor Artemyev, the Head of the completion authority. The Council will be chaired by Anatoly Golomolzin, Deputy Head of FAS Russia, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Expert Council is formed to discuss the issues and devise proposals towards developing competition in oil and oil products markets, including transportation of those goods.

Representatives of several companies and organizations have already expressed their interest in taking part in the Council's work. Within a month, FAS Russia will finalize Council's membership.

The Expert Council will include representatives of federal and regional executive bodies, participants of the oil and oil products markets, research agencies, representatives of the unions and non-government organizations, and independent experts.

Currently FAS Russia has 22 Expert Councils on various industries, working on an ongoing basis, with participation of the major market players. Their decisions are advisory but according to the established practice, FAS Russia can use their conclusions in its enforcement and legislative activities.
