OREANDA-NEWS. October 23, 2009. Eurasian Development Bank, bonds of which are listed on the special trading floor of the Regional Financial Center of Almaty, provided Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) with a press release, reported the press-centre of KASE:

Eurasian Development Bank opened its representation office in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The Tajikistan Government will aim to support partnership in areas of investment, preparation and implementation of investment projects in accordance with goals of the bank, interaction with authorities of Tajikistan and international organizations in Dushanbe.
 
"Opening of an office in Dushanbe is a border between preliminary measures taken to secure presence of the Bank in one more country - member of the Bank and a beginning of operation of the Bank in the Republic,- the Bank Chairman Igor Finogenov said.

The chairman of the bank said that operational directions and priorities have been determined. First of all, it is financing of prospective and potential investment projects aimed at stable economical growth of Tajikistan, boost of mutual trade and investment, and development of industrial cooperation of Tajikistan and other countries - bank members. The bank has been called to facilitate structural shifts in Tajikistan economy at the expense of transition to  a diversified economy, increase in production of competitive high added value production. Within the interstate cooperation and development of regional integration initiative in Eurasia the Bank is ready to implement the program of technical aid to companies and organizations of Tajikistan.

The Bank has a number of initiatives in Tajikistan. In particular, the Bank management has already approved its participation in financing of factory construction in Tajikistan by ZAO "Olim-Textile". Eurasian Development Bank will invest over USD22.6 m in 12 years.

The Bank office will be managed by representative office director Erkanat Galiev who will report to deputy chairman of the Bank - managing director for project activity Kambar Shalgimbaev.
