OREANDA-NEWS. October 23, 2009. A loan agreement between Japan Bank for International Cooperation, the international division of Japan Finance Corporation and the Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno is to be signed in Minsk on 23 October, said deputy of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament, Chairman of the Association of Friendship and Parliamentary Links with the Republic of Belarus Yoshinori Ohno. He met with Sergei Maskevich, Chairman of the International Affairs and CIS Relations Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.

The Japanese politician said that it is his first visit to Belarus. “Japan and Belarus are situated very far from each other, but the two countries are getting closer through humanitarian and economic cooperation,” Yoshinori Ohno said.

Belarus and Japan have started developing a new type of relations. The Japanese guest promised to spare no effort to boost this cooperation.

According to Sergei Maskevich, the visit of the Japanese deputy to Belarus is a remarkable event. He added that “economic cooperation is the most important indicator of the bilateral relations.” Sergei Maskevich informed that during a meeting the sides intend to share views on a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
